DAYS IN THE LOOP
It began with a walk. From a post office (now a bar) in Crosby and back to the same place. It is not a path of discovery and yet discovery is what it offers when learning to see what usually slips past.
The images are from years ago and no years.
Crosby is a companion. I call it Our Place. Its buildings, corners, doorways, pavements and passing figures form a narrative of change and continuity. It has atmospheres. Such as that in the bar at the end of the loop where strangers and familiars alike simply fall into each others company.
To walk the loop is to take the long way round. Not because of the distance but because the journey is slow. It resists the straight line, the shortcut, the rush to move on.. These images are an invitation to enter that rhythm. To look closely. To linger. To take the long way round..
